Das Gewehr über

This film has an Australian plot: a German migrant family has a son whom the father believes is lacking in discipline and sense of duty, so he sends him, accompanied by a boyhood friend, to Germany for military service. Initially both boys are displeased, but over time are won over to life in the New Germany. The film, a comedy,  was criticised in CATALOGUE OF FORBIDDEN GERMAN FEATURE AND SHORT FILM PRODUCTIONS by the Allies after the war as "puerile propaganda."
