Die Geierwally

In 1940, in preparation for the promotion of this film, the Tobis Filmkunst studio held a national graphic poster competition -- a competition for a new film poster -- which was the only time during the Third Reich that such a competition was held.  Forty–one entries were received and the finalist posters were announced in the highly–respected graphic arts magazine, Gebrauchsgraphik, in it's issue #7 of 1940; and the finalist posters were then exhibited across the Reich, according to the magazine.

This poster, in our Collection, was one of the best to come out of the competition, and is to be seen here  at the top of the page in the magazine's article.
