“History is not about the facts. It is about the context and who is telling the story.” —Prof. Milton Fine.
"Who controls the past controls the future: who controls the present controls the past." –– George Orwell in his novel "1984."
We do not have the German original poster for ALCAZAR, but this Belgian original poster in our collection is the same graphic design as the original German one, as you can see from that poster's image reproduced on the German "Werberatschlag" (Cinema owner's promotional film guide):
Below, the Spanish premiere of the film by Augusto Genina, The Siege of the Alcazar or L'Assedio dell'Alcazar, which took place in Madrid in 28 October 1940. Note the huge dramatic replica of the Alcazar mounted on the roof of the cinema, as a bold 3D image of the fort. Note as well the enthusiastic audience, saluting Franco's victory as represented by the film, with their Falangist salute.
