Australian plots in Third Reich feature films

Here are three feature films made during the Third Reich in which Australia plays a location and at least part of the film's plot.

The blue film title links you to our original posters for these films, in our Poster Gallery.

They are:

Frauen für Golden Hill – Lonely Aussie gold miners arrange mail-order-brides and the new couples must survive the harsh terrain, lack of water, a plane crash, and sandstorms. With a fine cast of leading actors.

Das Gewehr über – Two young German–Australian larrikins are sent to the Reich for military training by their fathers, with some hilarious consequences which lead to their understanding discipline and an appreciation for the New Germany.  Starring Rudy Godden and Rolf Moebius.

Zu neuen Ufern – A singer in Victorian London takes the murder rap for her scheming ne'er-do-well gambler two–faced fiancé and is sentenced to transportation Down Under to the the notorious Womens' Prison in Parramatta, New South Wales. Starring Zarah Leander in a top Detlef Sierck costume melodrama.
