Im Trommelfeuer der Westfront

A print of this film exists in the German Bundesarchiv. A truncated version was released in the German  DVD market a few years ago.  An uncensored, full–length excellent print transfer to DVD is for sale from International Historic Films in Chicago. Their DVD has a  full 21 extra minutes of battle footage censored in the post–war DVD version for sale in Germany.

From our Collection, an autographed artist card from the Director, Charles Willy Kaiser, who was also a film actor in silent and sound films, prior  to directing, and who died in 1942.

The remark under the illustration declares 'FLAMETHROWERS - TANKS - MACHINEGUNS - ARTILLERY OF ALL CALIBRES bring death and destruction in the fading light at day's end....."   followed by   "Youth can be admitted to the film."

This poster is for an outdoor advertising column, a Litfass, and was printed in 1936 in Austria.
