Titanic

 

This poster, at the bottom of this page,  is a beautiful montage of painted scenes combined with photo images from the film. Titanic was banned close to its impending premiere in Germany because Dr. Goebbels believed that the story was too depressing  at that stage in the war, and perhaps because the victims trying to flee a sinking ship would remind audiences of their own panic from the massive terror bombing of their cities by the RAAF and US Army air forces.

The film was then given its world premiere in Paris on the 10th of  November 1943.
