Die Geissel der Welt / The Scourge of the World

Director Carl Junghans, 1936

This Spanish Civil War film was banned in Nazi Germany after a short run in 1936 at least partly because Dr. Goeebls had an intense dislike of the Director, Carl Junghans,. who had been a German Communist member in the Weimar era. The film eventually was purchased by Bavaria Filmkunst and integrated with the Spanish produced ¡Arriba Espana!  and then edited into a new film, Helden in Spanien released in Germany in 1938.

We have never been able to find any film poster, advertising material or ephemera on this film until this three page article in one of our 1937 Gaufilmestelle magazines. Below we present this article for interested readers.
