Jewish Germans were by 1940 forbidden to attend cinema screenings. When the film held its premiere season run at the prestigious Ufa Palast am Zoo in Berlin for German audiences, the film was also being shown on some of those very same evenings to Jewish audiences in their Kulturabendsaal film screenings of the Berlin Jüdische Kulturbund.  A piece of film trivia from the Third Reich.
