The German dubbed version of the film was released through the Deutsch – Italianische Film–Union  [DIFU] export/import distribution company set up between Propaganda Minister Goebbels and Minister of Culture Pavolini. The film in the Third Reich cinemas was marketed as Die letzten von Giarabub (The last from Giarabub)....meaning the Italian survivors of the battle with the British after the Italian outpost was overrun.
